Not-So-Super-Chargers

Monday, February 19th, 2007

So the Chargers fire Marty, because he can’t win in the playoffs. Then they hire Norv, who can’t GET to the playoffs. Makes sense…

Actually, Norv should have a chance for success with the Chargers. They should be a playoff team with their talent no matter who is coaching them. The real loser in all of this is the 49ers. Norv is a mediocre to poor head coach, but he is an outstanding offensive coordinator. Alex Smith and Frank Gore are probably sobbing uncontrollably as we speak.

Stephen A. is Making Sense?

Tuesday, February 6th, 2007

I wasn’t really sure where to post this video, but the presence of Stephen A. Smith made it seems sports-worthy. It is taken from a CNN report on discrimination against atheists in America, and consists of a panel discussion. A panel with Stephen A. Smith, a panel without an atheist, and a panel whose goal seems to be full-scale discrimination against atheists.

The voice of reason in the piece is none other than Stephen A. Hey, I’m as surprised as you! (And for the record, I find Karen Hunter to be a vile, bigoted, sanctimonious, hateful bitch.)

These Cheese Doodles are delicious!

Super Bowl – 2007

Sunday, February 4th, 2007

- One minute left in the first half. I’d like to take this opportunity to chastise the NFL for their decision to cover the football in Vaseline for the Super Bowl. Seriously, what has there been, about 17 fumbles already? Bizarre.

- Can someone explain to me why the NFL (or anyone for that matter) would invite Prince to their show, and then have him do a bunch of OTHER PEOPLES’ SONGS? I do like that the marching band has glowing trim on their uni’s. I hope they continue to use those during football season. Not that I’ll be watching many Florida A&M games…

- OK. I’m not a Rex hater, but maybe the Bears ought to start thinking about Griese (am I really saying this?) It would be one thing if Rex was just throwing INT’s or something, but he can barely take a snap or stand upright.

- I hope this game doesn’t come down to a FG attempt for the Colts. That squad has looked shaky (at best) today.

- Rex throws an INT that gets returned for a Colt’s TD. Seriously guys–Griese.

- Rex throws another INT down 12 points. SERIOUSLY guys–Griese. Aw hell, it’s probably too late now anyway. All those 3-and-outs killed that Bears defense earlier. They are gassed.

- Addai has been the guy that killed the Bears today. He won’t win it, but probably deserves the MVP. All those little dump passes he caught frustrated and tired out the Bears D. He was a big part of the huge time of possession advantage the Colts had. Hell, him and Rhodes ought to share the award.

- Manning and Dungy finally have their championship. Good for them. The Colts did what they needed to in the 2nd half, but they really dodged a lot of bullets earlier in the game. They recovered from the Hester TD pretty well, but they had a bunch of turnovers that the Bears didn’t take advantage of. It’s all moot now though. All welcome our new NFL overlords, the Indianapolis Colts.
