UK player’s mom sees Final Four

Let’s hear it for Kentucky’s newest basketball recruit Alex Legion. Or at least for his delusional “prophet” mom. Here are a couple of choice quotes from the article:

“I’m a prophet,” she said, “someone who can prophesize about your future and what’s going on in your life.”

“The Lord has shown me: They’re going to the Final Four,” she said, before adding a qualifier, “providing they play together.”

“I have spoken these things into existence.”

and my favorite:

“I had no clue Kentucky was a basketball school. No clue,” Annette Legion said. “But God knew.”

I mean really, how would any of us know that Kentucky was a basketball school unless the lord told us?

I officially hate the Kentucky Wildcats until this kid leaves the team. Even though it was his mom spouting all of this rubbish, I just can’t stand the idea that she is able to speak a team’s Final Four appearance into existence. My greatest wish is that UK spends the next however many years as a .500 or worse team. Aw hell, who am I kidding. I can hear the excuses from Ms. Legion now, “The Lord meant the Final Four of the NIT tournament…”

Awesome finish to the MNF game last night. It also left me feeling a bit conflicted. I want to hate the Cowboys, but Tony Romo is making it awfully hard:
