Hail to the…Appalachian State Mountaineers?!?
Ah, college football is here again. How do we know? Because the University of Michigan Wolverines are out laying an egg on the field. It’s as sure a sign of fall as the turning of the leaves. They were a preseason #5 team and if there is any justice, they will drop out of the top-25 entirely after this:
Appalachian State – 34
Michigan – 32
Chad Henne 20/38, 236 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT.
Yes this loss can be pretty much blamed on the inexperienced (and obviously under-performing) defense, but Chad Heiny has to shoulder his share of the blame. 53% completion against Appalachian State?!?!? Please. Let us pray we have heard the last of analysts using “Henne” and “Heisman” in the same sentence. Unless the sentence is, “Chad Henne has no business being mentioned in conjunction with the Heisman Trophy.” Let me also mention that Michigan went for the two-point conversion TWICE and missed. Oh look! They lost by two points. Nice job, Lloyd Carr.
I’d also love to give a nice “Screw You” to the Big10 network that has pretty much prevented all the people who want to watch Big10 games from actually watching Big10 games.

thought about you when i saw this… observed a moment of silence, before laughing hysterically. special teams, not so special. i didn’t see any of the game, but goddamn have they practiced blocking for fieldgoals at all?

If we judge by the results on the field, it would appear they must not have given field goal execution much of a look during practice. Or tackling, or pass efficiency, or…

this isn’t going to end nicely… implosion? oh, by the way looks like the wheels are coming off the wagon at auburn too, maybe not quite to the degree of mich. but off none the less.

I may live to regret saying this but…Notre Dame looks SOOOOOO BAD that I think Michigan can at least get one in the win column this weekend.
The only good thing is that Heiny got hurt so I don’t have to watch him blanket the field with his suck.
Auburn, yeah. What the hell happened to Cox?!? A couple of years ago he looked like he was going to be a player, but now…yikes. Makes you long for the Jason Campbell era, huh?

i can’t believe campell has a nfl starting gig. what’s more i can’t believe that he actually looked pretty good, the little bit i saw. Cox… this is the guy that left school for like 6 months because practice was too hard…er had “mono”. the guy is mentally tough as eggshells. nothing like miss state to get some confidence back though.
